This has been about 15 years in the making, inspired from places I’ve lived, as well as the botanical gardens at Thanksgiving point. In medical school, I studied outside as opposed to libraries as much as possible—it always helped feed my soul and make me feel more alive. When I moved into my home, I started with nothing but dirt, but formed a plan for the design and clung to my vision, even though my budget was tight. Little by little—first stamped concrete, then a gazebo kit, then a fountain and pavers. Then my husband welded a trellis for my birthday 4 years ago which created the best feature - a walkway of Eden climbing roses. It’s always a work in progress, but truly a labor of love! A place to unwind and escape to—especially while being a front line physician through the covid pandemic.
